Upcoming Events

As the Founder and Executive Director of the Trauma & Grief Institute (TGI), I'm a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in Ontario and a Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW) in British Columbia. I serve on the board of EMDR Canada, helping advance trauma recovery practices nationwide.

I'm the author of Over the Rainbow: The Love, Loss, & Legacy of Your Dog, a heartfelt guide for those grieving the loss of a pet, and Self-Care Moments: A Workbook to Navigate Your Grief, designed to help individuals connect with their emotions and find relief through self-care practices. These books extend the compassionate support I offer at TGI, making tools for healing and reflection accessible to a broader audience.

Speaking Engagements:

As a speaker, I share insights on trauma, grief, and resilience, creating meaningful connections with diverse audiences.

  • Who is a good fit: Organizations, community groups, or professional events seeking presentations on topics such as trauma recovery, grief processing, burnout, workplace wellness, overall well-being, and empowerment. My talks are tailored to inspire growth, resilience, and sustainable success.

EMDR Clinical Consultation:

I provide clinical consultation to EMDR clinicians, offering support to become certified or ongoing support with complex cases.

  • Who is a good fit: EMDR clinicians looking to refine their skills, gain feedback on complex cases, and deepen their understanding of trauma-informed practices using a lens of attachment theory, Polyvagal theory, and ego states. As an EMDR Consultant, I offer individual and group consultation hours that can be applied toward EMDR certification.

EMDR Intensives:

My psychotherapy services include EMDR intensives as a way to efficiently process trauma and grief.

  • Who is a good fit: Ideal for those experiencing PTSD, trauma, or complicated grief who want focused, accelerated healing. EMDR intensives are well-suited for addressing trauma from accidents, assaults, or disasters; workplace incidents; relationship stress; frontline and military experiences; childhood or medical trauma; and coping with terminal illness, divorce, car accidents, natural disasters, assaults, or NGO and military deployment experiences.

Advanced EMDR and Clinician Training:

My role as a trainer includes leading workshops for both clinicians and the general public, empowering individuals with practical tools for growth and healing.

  • Who is a good fit: Mental health professionals seeking to enhance their clinical skills through advanced EMDR training and workshops on topics such as dissociation, grief, and elements of running a private practice.

Workshops and Retreats:

  • Who is a good fit: Individuals or groups seeking to build resilience, improve emotional regulation, and gain tools for personal growth. Popular topics include burnout, grief, inner child work, self-care, and learning to be authentic.

Whether you’re a clinician or someone seeking personal growth, I welcome you to connect and explore pathways to healing.

Speaking
“Krista is a phenomenal presenter. She speaks from a perspective of someone who understands intimately her topics and not just from a theoretical perspective. She makes topics easy to understand and then apply in practice. She is knowledgeable, approachable and an enjoyable presenter to listen to.”

Julie Marquis, RP

“Krista is engaging and impactful. Even as a seasoned therapist I learned a lot from her well-researched presentation.”

Alison Sharp, RSW, LCSW

"Krista's presentations are well-researched and organized. She is clear, personable, and engaging. She integrates theory into practice with plenty of examples, videos, and opportunities for learners to practice the skills discussed. I have learned a lot from Krista and value her knowledge regarding EMDR, parts work, and grief counselling."

Emily Davison, MSW, RSW
